Sunshine Business Awards 2022/23
The inaugural Sunshine Business Awards acknowledge and reward outstanding businesses within the busy hub of Sunshine CBD. Proudly presented by the Sunshine Business Association, supported by Brimbank Council, Aussie Home Loans and CreateVic, these awards recognise the best of the best small businesses in Sunshine and their owners. These awards give recognition of the businesses strength and stamina surviving Covid-19 and now through recovery, that some are still battling with.
These awards gave our customers and supporters the chance to vote for their favourite barista, café, restaurant, retailer, hairdresser, travel agent, lawyer or professional service provider via our website and social media. An 8-week campaign of voting that started 1st June – 31st July 2022, with the winners announced at a gala business networking event that saw 120 attending on Wednesday 10th August, at Peony House Sunshine.
$42,000 was given back to businesses and 1 local community or sporting group.
With 12 Business Categories, the business with the greatest amount of votes won $5,000 cash plus a $2,000 marketing and business development voucher (MBDV). The second and third category won $2,000 cash and $2,000 MBDV. Businesses with the most votes in the remaining categories won $1,000 cash and a $2,000 MBDV. MBDV consisted of a trophy, Winner shop decal, social media posts/support over 12-months and Winner promotion across Sunshine on real estate boards, bin wraps and the SBA community board on Hampshire Rd.
